Louise De Buck – Search for an escape
Louise proposes one of the paintings of her series ‘Psychedelic dreams’. The painting and the title are explicit, that talks about love and illusion. A search for an escape. This painting is part of Louise’s psychedelic dreams series where toys from the past are represented, from a more reassuring time. Because of the situation, we have been living in for a year, it evokes a desire to find a way out of all this. A kind of imaginary little corner of paradise contained in a Polly pocket, one of the toys of her childhood.
This artwork is selected by Subbacultcha team member Herlinde. “Louise’s image in one of the (He)Art magazines in the Fall of 2020 immediately stood out for me. I was happy to discover more strong paintings. The Polly Pocket here makes me long for extended & far travels.”
